Community Spotlight: Smyrna
Smyrna is located in Cobb County, just off I-285, about a 15 minute drive from downtown Atlanta. The city has over fifty thousand residents, with fairly young population. This young demographic earned Smyrna the 2014 distinction of being one of the best cities for young adults.
The centerpiece of Smyrna, is the Smyrna Village Green and Smyrna Market Village. This area is the hub of the City's municipal government. It also offers restaurants, speciality shops, housing, the community center, the library, and a constant stream of events and festivities. There are also many opportunities for outdoor recreation on the Silver Comet Trail, and several parks, including a brand new universally accessible park.
The median sales price for Smyrna homes is $219,950, which is an increase of 10.6% from the previous year. The majority of homes are single family detached, and the average home has three bedrooms. About half of residents own their homes. There are currently 479 homes listed for sale in Smyrna, with an average listing price of $304,822.
